Sociology 30B: Intercultural Relations in a Multicultural Society: Experiencing

In this course, we will critically examine how race and ethnic hierarchies operate in our lives.  We will look at how our intentions, actions, ways of thinking and responses - all shaped by our race/ethnicity (as well as gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, etc.) - have consequences for others and ourselves.  We will study how some people in institutionalized settings or in particular situations use race/ethnicity to deny others of privileges and power.
